Melbourne Boat Hire and Benjamin Eriksson Photography announce the launch of their new photography cruises on Melbourne’s Yarra River. Matt Gannon – the owner of Melbourne’s leading luxury Yarra River cruises, and Melbourne workshop photographer Ben Eriksson come together to share their love for the water, and experiences in landscape, nature, and cityscape photography. The first photography cruise will be available this month with options of sunrise, midday, or sunset sessions, and will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays.
Participants will be treated to an abundance of unforgettable photography opportunities while they explore Melbourne’s picturesque waterways on luxury boat, Birrarung. Commencing in Dockland’s spectacular harbour, only minutes from the city centre, they will discover the beauty of Melbourne by boat as they take in the sights of the commercial port with large container ships, historical bridges and surrounding buildings along the Yarra, and local wild life.
Photographer Ben Eriksson will be on board to assist with any photography questions where required – including lighting and exposure techniques for bright, normal, and low-light situations; camera modes; understanding the exposure triangle (aperture, shutter speed, ISO); composition; lens choice for different situations, and more.
“It doesn’t matter what your level of photography experience is, I’m here to help you enjoy your photography cruise,” he said. “It’s a must-do photography tour for locals looking for something different to do, or for those visiting Melbourne from overseas or interstate wanting to photograph our beautiful city from the water.”
